How To Master The Perfect Matcha: Ratio is the KIE

Matcha is simple.. but it is precise.

At KIE, we believe the difference between good matcha and exceptional matcha lies in one thing: the ratio. Too little and it tastes thin. Too much and it becomes bitter, overpowering, and wasteful. When balanced correctly, matcha is smooth, grounding, energising, and deeply satisfying.

Matcha is powerful and that is its beauty. While it offers calm focus and antioxidants, overconsumption can lead to restlessness or digestive discomfort. One thoughtfully prepared cup is often all you need to feel its benefits. At KIE, we prioritise mindful rituals over excess. Matcha should support your day — not overwhelm it.

This guide is designed to help you master the perfect matcha latte at home with intention, elegance, and consistency.

5 Simple Steps To The Perfect Matcha:
A clean, beginner-friendly method that works with any milk or syrup.

1. Add 1–2 teaspoons (2g) of KIE Matcha into a bowl or wide cup.

2. Pour 30–50ml of hot water at 70–80°C. (Avoid boiling water, as it scorches the matcha and introduces bitterness.)

3. Whisk until smooth and frothy. Using a bamboo whisk or electric frother, whisk briskly until the matcha is fully dissolved and silky, with a light foam on top.

4. Add your milk of choice, pour 200–250ml of warm or iced milk. (Oat, almond, coconut, or dairy all work beautifully — choose what complements your ritual.)

5. Sweeten to taste, by adding 1–2 pumps of your favourite sweetener: vanilla, pistachio, honey, brown sugar,

6. Stir gently, Sip slowly.. Enjoy intentionally

Why the Ratio Matters

This ratio creates a latte that is creamy, flavour-forward, and easy to drink — whether hot or iced:

Matcha: 1-2 teaspoons (approximately 2g)

Water: 30–50ml at 70–80°C (never boiling)

Milk: 200–250ml

Matcha is a concentrated form of green tea. Unlike steeped tea, you consume the entire leaf — which means more flavour, more nutrients, and more caffeine.
Getting the rations right ensures: a balanced, smooth tastes (never grassy or bitter), no wastage of premium matcha will be tolerated.. a gentle and sustained energy, not jitters or crashes and respect for your body: too much of anything is never a luxury.
